One must take into consideration the two dimensions of the drawing on paper and the three dimensions of the arch. What is a little over 38 mm between the upper eyes on paper will end up around 41.5 on the arch. For the lower eyes the difference is not so big as the arch is almost flat at that spot. CC on my previous violin was 169 mm, so considerably less than here, which is 178.5mm. This width did surprise me a bit, but it was a result of the mould and the corner templates
It is, by the way, practically the same distance as can be found on the (bigger) G-form drawing of Stradivari. CD was 24.5mm on my previous violin. Anyway, 29.5 mm will work for CD for this one. You will notice on my drawing the presence of point B, which you canīt really find on Stradivari's drawing and the absence of what I called point 4 in part one. I find it more practical to establish B as a certain distance away from A (in this case 7mm) and then connect BB and get C where it cuts the ribs. Point 4 is the centre for an arc to show how much clearance there is from the C-bout to the lower eye. But for me this clearance is a logical result of the
